What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2019 – Streamlined Assembly Workflows

Streamlined Assembly Workflows

Working with assemblies in SOLIDWORKS is now easier and faster than ever before with a range of enhancements to make common workflows faster.

Fewer Steps to Get Your Job Done with Assemblies in SOLIDWORKS

When working with assemblies it can be easy to accumulate lots of mates. With the new option to Group Mates in SOLIDWORKS 2019 users will find it much easier to navigate the Mate folder, now that you can group mates by Status or separate fasteners.

When grouped by Status, mates are separated into folders. For example, mates with errors due to over definition, mates that reference missing components, and inactive mates that reference fixed components. The new Group Mates option makes it much easier to both find and keep your assemblies organized.

Many users prefer to have all of their toolbox components fully defined in their assemblies. In SOLIDWORKS 2019 a new option is available to lock the rotation of all concentric mates in one step.  Now all of the fasteners in your assembly can be fully defined in an instant, saving you more time to spend developing your designs.

In SOLIDWORKS 2019, there is now an option to automatically lock the rotation of all new concentric mates to Toolbox components upon insertion, saving even more time, keeping your assemblies fully defined and conforming to best practices.

These are just a few of the enhancements in SOLIDWORKS 2019 that will help to streamline the workflow when working with assemblies.
