What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2017: Latest Version Overwrite in SOLIDWORKS PDM

It’s that time again! Over the next few weeks, our Territory Technical Managers will be sharing their thoughts and walking us through a closer look at some of their favourite new features in SOLIDWORKS 2017.

Latest Version Overwrite in SOLIDWORKS PDM – This is one for all of you managing your data in SOLIDWORKS PDM, and it’s called “Latest Version Overwrite”. In previous versions of PDM, a new file version was created for any change to a file or its metadata – in many cases this wasn’t really necessary…for instance day end check in, fixing a typo on a drawing, or upgrading a file from one major release version to another. In 2017, your PDM Administrator can allow users to overwrite the current file version with a brand new setting…let’s take a look.
