SOLIDWORKS 2020 will be the final release of SOLIDWORKS supported on Windows 7. SOLIDWORKS 2021 will not run on Windows 7.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Preview timeout setting for SOLIDWORKS PDM Web2<\/h2>\n<p><em>By Nicole Phillips<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In SOLIDWORKS PDM Web2, by default, the preview generation timeout setting is set to 30 seconds.\u00a0 Many times, that is not enough time when working with large files, such as PDF files.\u00a0 The process needs efficient time to process and deliver that file to the client.\u00a0 \u00a0 When a file is too large and has timed out, you will see a warning such as:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24294 colorbox-24178\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1-300x130.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 775px) 100vw, 775px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1-300x130.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1-768x334.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1-615x267.jpg 615w, https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1-728x317.jpg 728w, https:\/\/blogs.solidworks.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/sorry-no-preivew-available-1.jpg 860w\" alt=\"\" width=\"775\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>***Please note that Web2 does not support previewing all file formats, so it is also possible that this warning shows when you are trying to preview an unsupported format.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In some environments, this timeout is too short making it necessary to modify the setting to allow more time.<\/p>\n<p>To change the timeout setting for preview generation, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Open the \u2018Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager\u2019 tool.<br \/>\n2. Expand \u2018Sites\u2019 &gt; expand \u2018Default Web Site\u2019 &gt; select the \u2018SOLIDWORKSPDM\u2019 application.<br \/>\n3. Double-click \u2018Application Settings\u2019.<br \/>\n4. Right-click on the \u2018PreviewGenerationTimeOut\u2019 setting &gt; \u2018Edit\u2019.<br \/>\n5.
