For example, when you need a simple capability such as designing different and flexible Grid Systems for placing components, many CAD system support changing Grid size from bigger to smaller and yet every view can have Multiple Grid Systems in the same design for different sections of the same board. SOLIDWORKS PCB has a scheme to setup Cartesian Grids alone with Polar Grids that have different angles and snap points in the same design.

Another advantage of SOLIDWORKS PCB is flexibility in creating different style pad and holes for components. Pads can be created as circles, squares or rectangles with sharp or rounded corners. This also includes holes, which can be circles, squares, and slots with sharp or rounded corners. SOLIDWORKS PCB is one of the few PCB CAD systems that have ranges of granularity for pad and hole creations.

These are just a few of the many features of SOLIDWORKS PCB.
