Spotlight on Feature: SOLIDWORKS Composer new Functionality \u2013 Mirror animation<\/h1>\n

SOLIDWORKS Composer 2017 SP3 comes with a new functionality called Mirror animation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In SOLIDWORKS Composer 2017 SP3, Mirror animation,<\/strong> has been introduced to improve the animation functionality.<\/p>\n

With this new functionality users can mirror animation blocks that have been created using the, \u2018Animation Library Workshop\u2019. This reverses the order of the animation of the selected animation block, or of certain keys that have been selected within it.\u00a0 For example, if a \u2018Screw\u2019 animation has been applied to an actor, performing the \u2018Mirror animation\u2019 functionality with create an \u2018Unscrew\u2019 animation.<\/p>\n

This functionality only works for motion animations that have been created using the \u2018Animation Library Workshop\u2019.\u00a0 Animations that have been created manually, using the animation keys, do not utilize this functionality.<\/p>\n

To use the Mirror animation<\/strong> command:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Go to \u2018Workshop > Animation Library > Motion\u2019<\/li>\n
  2. Create a new animation sequence for example \u2018Screw<\/strong>\u2019<\/li>\n
  3. Right-click the animation block \u2018Mirror > Selected Step(s) \/ Mirror Animation\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The command will mirror the selected animation sequence with the reverse\/inverted action.<\/p>\n

    The Animation library workshop makes use of .xml templates, which by default are located at:<\/p>\n

    C:\\Program Files\\SOLIDWORKS Corp\\SOLIDWORKS Composer\\AnimationLibrary<\/p>\n

    Note: For the Mirror animation<\/strong> command to work correctly, you need to capitalize the .xml templates for Motion group available at above location.<\/p>\n
