{"id":4522,"date":"2016-07-25T16:35:32","date_gmt":"2016-07-25T15:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidapps.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4522"},"modified":"2016-07-25T16:35:32","modified_gmt":"2016-07-25T15:35:32","slug":"driveworks-tech-tip-images-in-driven-excel-documents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidapps.co.uk\/blog\/2016\/07\/driveworks-tech-tip-images-in-driven-excel-documents\/","title":{"rendered":"DriveWorks Tech Tip \u2013 Images in Driven Excel Documents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"vc_single_image-img attachment-full alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Rob.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Rob.jpg 164w, http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Rob-66x80.jpg 66w\" alt=\"Rob\" width=\"164\" height=\"200\" \/>Recently whilst Rob, Technical Marketing at DriveWorks, was working on creating new documents for the DriveWorks Cupboard demo, he came across an issue with images in Excel documents.<\/p>\n<p>If you drive an Excel document that contains an image and then save a PDF, the image in the PDF document will have the wrong aspect ratio.<\/p>\n<p>After some research, Rob found that this is a known issue with Excel.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that you can increase the height of the image by 10% in the master document, so that the image in the generated PDF document is the correct aspect ratio.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-4\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-8\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s how it\u2019s done:<\/strong><br \/>\n1 \u2013 Insert your image<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 S<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"vc_single_image-img attachment-full alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Robs-blog-image-1.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Robs-blog-image-1.jpg 188w, http:\/\/www.driveworks.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Robs-blog-image-1-80x40.jpg 80w\" alt=\"Rob's blog image 1\" width=\"188\" height=\"93\" \/>elect the image and then click Format in the task bar<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2013 Click the arrow in the bottom corner to access additional size options<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 Uncheck \u2018Lock Aspect Ratio\u2019 and increase the height of the image to 110%. This will stretch your image<\/p>\n<p>5 \u2013 Once you\u2019ve increased the height of the image, check \u2018Lock Aspect Ratio\u2019 again.
