Releasing your drawings to the machine shop with missing information makes a machinist angrier than a baby boomer looking at a teenager that doesn\u2019t have his pants pulled up all the way.<\/p>\n

As we all know, looking through a large assembly, checking file properties can be a tedious task. (At least that is the excuse I always use.) I\u2019ve found Assembly Visualization can be a great tool to quickly skim through your assembly\u2019s components looking for missing information.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how I could use it to find any parts in my assembly without material specified:<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Start the Visualization tool (it is either on your assembly or evaluate toolbar by default)<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Right mouse button click on any of the headers (except \u201cFile Name\u201d) and choose \u201cAdd Column\u201d, or find any column with a little black arrow pointing to the right.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Click on that arrow and choose \u201cMore\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Choose the property you want to examine. (Check it out, you could work with formula too!)<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Now you can sort by this property by clicking on its heading and your parts with missing information will come to the top.<\/p>\n

This makes it easy to fix missing definitions quickly and make that floor supervisor happy!<\/p>\n
