Spotlight on features: SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation\u2019s <\/span><\/span>Min\/Max Table<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Min\/Max Table in SOLIDWORKS Flow simulation is an overlooked tool which shows a list of parameters (which you can customize) and the maximum and minimum parameter values.
\nDull? Read what\u2019s next:
\nIf the you highlight one of the parameters, the program creates a blue and red dot in the graphics window. The red dot indicates the location of the maximum parameter value selected and the blue dot the minimum parameter value location.
\nIn the blink of an eye, you can see where min and max pressure are and then switch to where the min and max velocities happen, then again switch to the temperatures!

Excel export\/import it is a new feature in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2015. This feature allows you to manage project data outside SOLIDWORKS Electrical. Data is exported via an Excel file in which you can modify marks, user data, manufacturer part data, etc. Afterward, this data is imported to the project to be compared with the project data. The user validates the changes or can keep the original data. This article explains the four steps in the procedure to<\/p>\n

    \"icon What happened to the Toolbox\u2019s swbrowser.mdb file in SOLIDWORKS 2015?
    \n<\/b>In SOLIDWORKS 2015, the SWBrowser.mdb file was converted from the 32-bit MS Access format to SQLite format. The file extension for this new databse is .sldedb (swbrowser.sldedb).
    \nIf you are upgrading from a pre-2015 version, the legacy swbrowser.mdb file will still reside in the \u201clang\u201d folder (typically: C:\\SOLIDWORKS Data \\lang\\english\\) after the upgrade, along with the newly converted swbrowser.sldedb file. However, keep in mind that SOLIDWORKS 2015 will only use the swbrowser.sldedb file.

    \nPlease note that Previous Release Interoperability is not available in SOLIDWORKS 2014. SOLIDWORKS 2014 SP5 will not open files created or saved in SOLIDWORKS 2015. This is due to a change in the way files are saved in SOLIDWORKS 2015.

    \"Icon What can cause the error \u201cCould not get the files from the database\u2026. (You haven\u2019t logged in on the file vault)\u201d after upgrading to SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM 2015 SP0?<\/strong>
    \nThe problem is that in some environments, after upgrading the vault to EPDM 2015 SP0 (v15.0.614), the ConisioMasterDb database may still have some active (residual) records from the legacy (pre-2015) \u201cAutomatic Log Off\u201d setting; this in turn causes an error when working in the 2015 file vault. The PDF file attached to Solution Id:     S-067254<\/a> details the process for confirming and correcting the problem.<\/p>\n

    \"icon SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation 2015 SP0 status \u2018Monitor lost connection with solver\u2019 appears immediately in the Solver Monitor when running any project and the solver does not finish. Are detailed steps available for correcting this issue?<\/strong>
    \nThis is a known issue in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation 2015 SP0 in cases where no network connection is available (e.g. Network cable unplugged, Wi-Fi turned off, NIC\/Ethernet Network Adapter card disabled, etc.). It has been reported in SPR 829972 and a fix is planned for 2015 SP1.
    \nPlease refer to the PDF attached to Solution Id:     S-067293<\/a> which contains instructions for a workaround for 2015 SP0.<\/p>\n

    \"icon Did the level of my SOLIDWORKS Plastics product automatically get downgraded in SOLIDWORKS 2015? The package name in the 2015 version looks like a lower level than in previous versions.
    \n<\/b>No. This is simply the result of a change in the naming convention for SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2015 package levels. There has been no downgrade in functionality.
    \nThe change in naming convention is as follows:

    \nFor example, the highest level (which allows for warp and cooling analysis) was called Plastics Advanced in the 2014 version. In the 2015 version, this same level of SOLIDWORKS Plastics is called Plastics Premium.
    \nA good way of understanding the new naming of SOLIDWORKS Plastics package levels is to go to Help > My Products to see which of the three possible levels of Plastics is available. A screenshot is attached for reference.
