Each year SOLIDWORKS releases a new version of its flagship product. This year, during the 15 days prior to the release of SOLIDWORKS 2015 we\u2019re taking a look at 15 of our favourite\u00a0new features coming in this feature packed release.<\/p>\n

\"SelectionSet1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Selection Sets<\/strong>\u00a0enable\u00a0the capture of important information, reducing repetitive selection operations during modelling, assembly, or simulation setup. \u00a0Selection Sets are saved in the SOLIDWORKS file and are accessed from the FeatureManager. They can include geometry, components, or drawing items.<\/p>\n

For commonly selected features, Selection Sets save a lot of time. By adding Selection Sets of faces or edges to standard parts and renaming them logically, mating components together becomes a whole lot easier. \u00a0Simulation often requires the selection of multiple faces, especially in Flow Simulation. Selection Sets make this process easier by allowing pre-selection of faces required to setup your simulation.<\/p>\n
