\n<\/span><\/p>\nHow to avoid the \u201cInvalid characters in study name error\u201d message when renaming studies<\/h2>\n
When renaming studies, I often want to choose names that correspond to the study settings. For instance \u201c<\/span>0.3 friction \u2013 Virtual <\/span>wall<\/span>\u201c, or \u201c1.5mm displacement in Z dir.\u201d If you are like me, then you probably encounter this error message which appears when you rename your Simulation studies directly from the study tab as shown below.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThe error will appear when you use a dot (.) or a comma (,) or a number of other symbols.<\/p>\n
To go around this limitation, opt to rename your studies from the study name at the top of the SimulationManager tree (click, pause, click to make the name editable, or right click and select Rename).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThis will let you use a dot (.) or a comma (,) and it therefore opens the door to more explicit study names.<\/p>\n
Still some symbols will not be allowed like !, ? and *. Maybe this limitation will get lifted in a future version and you\u2019ll finally be allowed to call your study \u201cThe BEST $*#!?ing study ever!!!<\/span>\u201c

When starting SolidWorks there is a licensing failure stating \u201cfailed to obtain computer identifier.\u201d How is this fixed?<\/span>
\nThis issue has been seen when the FlexNet services have been stopped or disabled on a computer. The FlexNet services are part of the licensing system used by SOLIDWORKS. Starting these services addresses the problem with starting SOLIDWORKS.
\nFrom solution Id: S-066259<\/a><\/p>\n <\/span>Why are some edges or lines missing from a drawing view set to Hidden Lines Removed (HLR) but show correctly when views are set to Shaded With Edges and how can this be fixed?<\/b>
\nOne possible cause for these edges not being displayed is if the drawing view has the option \u201cTangent lines removed\u201d selected. To check this, right mouse button click on the drawing view and verify what the tangent edge settings are.
\nIf the faulty lines are not tangent edges, then the most likely explanation is these HLR views are set to high quality.

What could cause the error\u201dHTTP Error 404.0 \u2013 Not Found\u201d when attempting to open Enterprise PDM Web2?<\/b>
\n<\/span>One possible reason is that the incorrect Microft .NET Framework is installed on the machine.
\nNavigate to Microsoft\u2019s .NET Framework 4.0 download page (http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=17718<\/a>) and follow the installation instructions.
\nIf the correct version of Microsoft\u2019s .NET Framework is installed and you still encounter an error, go to Programs > Control Panel > Programs and Features. Double click on Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (on newer) and select Repair.
