Case StudiesSAACKE make a quantum leap in technology with CAD/CAM and PDM systems
Portsmouth-based SAACKE Limited has placed a £150,000 order with
SOLID Applications for a multi-user Solid Edge based CAD/CAM system
and a collaborative product data management (PDM) system. The integrated system will make drawings, product data and
other information available throughout the company.
Saacke director Malcolm Cook comments: "We are making a quantum leap in technology by investing in 3D CAD, CAM and PDM. At the moment there is no linkage between our existing Cimcad system and CNC tooling, profiling and sheetmetal systems. Integrating these applications via SmarTeam will introduce substantial efficiency improvements." SOLID Applications is providing the company with SolidEdge 3D CAD, Smarteam PDM, EdgeCAM for milling and turning, Lantek for sheet-metal work and Mechsoft parts library The software will run on a Hewlett-Packard platform.
